Senators Sucking the Pipe

Not so long ago Senators Chris Dodd and Joe Lieberman were popular incumbent Democratic Senators of national reputation and significance. However, according to the Q Poll released yesterday, they are now a pair of skids along the bottom of the political toilet bowl.

Lieberman's approval rating is at 38 percent while Dodd's is at 47. Lieberman has been famously dogged by Connecticut leftists for his support of our military efforts in Iraq, and most recently, his support of John McCain during the presidential race. However, the incompetent and ineffective Democratic State Central Committee has been unable and or unwilling to do anything other than publicly rub their pink parts raw over Lieberman's supposed treason, or his laughably easy victory in Connecticut without the Democratic party in 2006.

Finally, last night, they took decisive action! After two years of crybaby antics, including a couple Democratic state legislators actually suggesting that Lieberman should be kicked out of the party (an action that isn't legal, but since when do they care about such restraints when it comes to party business?), and committee members saying they wanted to ask Lieberman to leave the party... now... they have made a BOLD MOVE! They will send him.. gasp!... a LETTER! No doubt, this folded parchment rebuke will be an epistle laden with very strong words. And those word will mean things!

In other words, it has taken state Democrats two years of blowing into their hankies and pounding their limp fists into their pillows to finally strike blow with an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper.

Dodd is another story. Finally dipping below the 50% threshold, Dodd has suffered due to his sweetheart mortgage deal, particularly in the light of the current economic crisis, his offenses seem spectacularly odious. Perhaps if Dodd had spent more time last year chairing the Banks committee instead of missing more than half his Senate votes while deluding himself that he might be president of the United States, he could have done something about the mess before it got so grotesque.

Despite both of them sucking so badly, Connecticut Democrats are stuck with these two meat-headed albatrosses around their necks for at least another couple years. Enjoy!

So who do you think should challenge Dodd in 2010? He is at his weakest point ever; we'll probably never have a better chance.

I posted on this poll, at www.theartfuldoddger.blogspot.com. Check it out.

I'll tell you, I don't really know who we ought to put up on the GOP side, and naturally, it reamins to be seen if this will all be enough to convince Dodd not to run again.

Thanks for the link, keep up the good work against the White Hare.

Simmons?
Rell?
Lisa Moody?

How about a business leader?
George David? His divorce should be over by then.

Liddy Dole is available.
Chris Shays, if he is not in the Peace Corp.

Oh, Man! This is terrible. Best chance yet of knocking off this pitiful excuse for a senator.

Hmmm, Jeb Bush could claim ties to this state. He's the smart one you know.

Surely we must have some entitled whelp kicking around somewhere.

If was legal to kick a senator out of his party they would have done it to Lincoln Chaffee over in RI.
