Franken-Tard

Saturday Night Live has produced some brilliant comedians with respectable careers. Al Franken isn't one of them.

Now, after having been a radio host on Air America, which had about eleven listeners, he is a DFL candidate seeking a Minnesota US Senate seat.

He's pretty centered, too, as you can see.

Yeah, I gotta admit that being a comic and comedy writer before going into politics can be a bit of a millstone about the neck. There's no way Franken will get elected if he's depending on widespread conservative support.

But, considering he's running in the state that put liberal Paul Wellstone in the Senate, there's quite a significant liberal base there. It should be an interesting contest.

True, Wellstone did come from this state. However, McCain is interestingly closing the gapwith Obama in ths most liberal of states, as he is in New York of all places... those should be safe states for Democrats.

That's going to hurt Franken's already handicapped race.

On the bright side for him, he's smart enough, he's good enough, and gosh-darnit, people like him.
