I hated that crap when I was in boot camp! I will never forget the time we did it in the rain -- Just like Officer and a Gentleman only none of us were as pretty as Richard Gere.
They looked sharp though. Outstanding.
Me -- I screwed up, cheated, got caught, and almost cost my company a flag and perhaps get myself sent back a few weeks.
It’s a lot harder than it looks, trust me. I had the hardest time just getting 'in step'.
In fact I think that’s the hardest part. I don't think I ever got it right.
Right after bootcamp though whenever I was following someone (even civilians), I would automatically fall in step with them.
